Getting ready to attend a high school admissions open house with our 8th grader. High school selection is challenging in San Francisco: 15 public, 13 private, 4 charter, plus parochial. Then I'll jam down the coast, experiencing the thrill of Devil's Slide, passing Moss Beach where I performed a wedding ceremony on a gorgeous cliff, recalling great breakfasts at the Half Moon Bay airport cafe, rejoicing in our honeymoon in Miramar; and today coming to the conference hotel for the first time.

Favorite teaching book: Fulfilling the Promise of the Differentiated Classroom, by C. Tomlinson. Wish I'd read before entering a classroom for the first time.
